Five Months in the Making
Some paintings come together in a matter of days. Others take their time.
This 48” x 60” canvas began five months ago, without a plan or a particular destination in mind.
At the end of painting sessions, I would return to this canvas with whatever colors remained on my palette. A mark here. A wash of color there. Layers added, scraped away, and rediscovered. Each session leaving behind a small trace of whatever I had been exploring that day.

Over time, those seemingly unrelated moments began to find their place alongside one another. Colors I might never have intentionally paired found harmony. Unexpected shapes emerged. What began as a collection of individual gestures slowly became something whole.

There was no rush to finish it. No predetermined vision to follow.
Just five months of allowing the painting to become what it wanted to be.

And perhaps that’s what I love most about this work. It holds a little piece of everything I’ve been creating over these past five months.
